History:

Detailing Dynamics Inc. was founded by Matt Zakarian in Long Island, NY in 1994. While working as an aerospace engineer designing military aircrafts for McDonnell Douglas in Long Beach, CA. Matt longed to work in the field of his true love; cars. At first the business started as a mobile operation with one custom detailing van and then expanded into two vans that were dispatched to multiple locations. As the company’s reputation and clientele grew, the first shop in Wantagh, NY was opened. After a year, a move was made to Mineola, NY to be closer to a major sector of the clientele on Long Island’s gold coast. This is when Edward Kehaian came on board to build upon the company’s philosophy of perfectionism and begin an apprentice program for future employees. After 4 years there, the business expanded and moved to Port Washington with a bigger and better equipped shop with lifts. As business and customers further grew, that shop was outgrown and once more a bigger location was needed. With luck and timing, an ideal building was located and custom built for two months including an all porcelain floor and custom lighting. Detailing Dynamics Inc. now resides at 66 Windsor Avenue, Mineola, New York in a state of the art, detailing Shop.

In late 2003, it was decided to expand the business to include marketing the very detailing products which were developed for and used in the shop that made Detailing Dynamics Inc. very successful. Mike Lee, who is a car enthusiast, avid track and autocross junkie, came on board after serving as the VP of marketing in the wireless and telecom industries to offer his sales and marketing expertise to the synergistic team and the online sales and marketing division Detailing Dynamics Online, Inc. was formed. The Online Store was launched in October of 2004 to offer our customers an easy avenue to procure products and accessories. We are in the process of expanding our New York facililty into Northern Califirnia and started offering detailing services out of Santa Clara, California.
